Baby and toddler groups are a great low cost activity.  When you’re just starting out, they’re a great place to meet other mums with babies, make friends and gives you a focus to get out of the house.  The baby & toddler groups usually involve a mix of music, crafts, toys and refreshments which is perfect for when your little one is looking for a bit more stimulation.  There’s something on each day of the week in Bicester.  Have a look further down at the classes section too as some of them are pay as you go.

Bicester New Mums Support Group

Fancy meeting other local Bicester mums, finding out about mum and baby support in the area and having access to loads of information all about life with kids under 5? Then join Bicester New Mums Support Group.  They run online feature weeks, regular coffee mornings and special events to make your mum experience that little bit better!

Fritwell Baby & Toddler Group is an informal group for babies, toddlers (0-3 years of age) and their carers from Fritwell and the surrounding villages, run by local parents. Toys, games, tea, coffee and cake included. The group has been created to help build friendships and support networks between local families. The group is currently in a trial phase and should it prove successful, more sessions will be arranged. Price is £3 per family, per session, payable in cash or by PayPal on the day.

Rhyme Time at Bicester Library specially for the Under 5s during term-time and some school holiday session. Check their facebook page in advance for updates.

Wednesday

Brill Baby & Toddler Group meet weekly on a Wednesday in term times between 9.30 and 11am. We welcome Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Childminders and Carers of bumps, babies and toddlers along to our sociable group. Each week there is  a wide range of toys available, along with an activity table, snack time and singing plus refreshments for the grown ups!

Home Start Stay & Play at Bicester Methodist Church 9:30 am – 11:30am (term-time only)

Thursday

Jellybeans Stay & Play is for under 5’s with their parents and carers. Run by Lifehouse Community Church, all welcome to come and join for a cuppa and cake, for just £2. In the group there is a baby area, home corner, craft and many more toys. The group meets at at West Bicester Community Centre (next to Tesco on Shakespeare Drive). Thursdays 10-11am (soon to be 11:30).  Jellybeans is currently not a drop-in group whilst we are keeping the numbers reduced post COVID. Don’t forget to sign up in the link posted each week.

Friday

Kingsmere Community stay & play runs 9:30-11:30am

Kirtlington Busy Bees every Friday (term time only) from 9-11am in Kirtlington Village Hall. We welcome children from 0-3 years and their parents/carers. Every week we offer caffeine and cake for the grown ups, plus craft, messy play, a healthy snack and lots of toys for the children. £2.50 per parent/carer.

Hethe Stay & Play runs on Friday mornings term time from 10.00am – 11.45am at Hethe Village Hall for Pre-Schoolers. Cost £2 per child & £1 per additional sibling. Hethe village hall is located off the Hardwick Road, Hethe OX27 8EY

Parks & Outdoor Spaces

Enjoy a sunny day or wrap up warm and get out for some fresh air.  Bicester has some lovely open spaces to enjoy.

Garth Park – there’s a great play park with water section which is perfect in the summer.  The café is also lovely for an extra treat.

Bure Park Nature Reserve – explore the little nature trails or whiz around on a scooter.  The semi paved paths are also good for a buggy walk.

Indoor Fun

Bicester’s leisure centre has a regular swimming pool and then a warmer kids pool.  It’s got a good shallow end with small slide and water jets too.

Head to the Bicester Avenue to enjoy the mid sized soft play.  It’s not too crowded mid week when the big kids are at school but worth booking if you’re going at the weekend.

KidzZoo Soft Play  is really handy in the centre of Bicester near Sainsburys if you’re in town for a spot of shopping.  A small to mid sized soft play, it’s perfect for younger kids.

Jump Inc trampoline park toddler sessions run on Mondays, Friday and weekends.
