For some reason I hadn’t really considered a day out for the children with Motts Leisure and what a mistake that was! They recently contacted me to ask if we’d like to try one of their days out and as soon as I had a look at what they were offering throughout the February half term I knew I had missed a trick!

We chose the trip to London to visit the free museums but they offered things such as Sealife or Legoland in Birmingham, Aerospace Bristol and a Brighton Coastal day.

I cannot express enough how convenient this was with three children. The fact that neither of us had to drive just made the day feel more relaxed and us parents were much less tired by the end of it! The boys had no idea we were going on a coach and they were so happy and excited with the surprise. It felt like such a treat for them. They loved having their own seats (Matilda was on our laps) and looking out the window, playing games and watching their tablets.

We were collected at 8:55am in Aylesbury (when you book you give your postcode and they assign the nearest pick up location) and we were parked in London outside the National History Museum by 10:30! We then had the day to ourselves and had to be back at the coach stop for 4pm.

There are toilets on the coach, room overhead for coats etc and plenty of leg room. There was a plug by each pair of seats and a usb port ok the back of every chair so you can even charge up on the ride!

The coach was spotless and it was a comfortable, relaxed ride – there wasn’t even any bickering! The driver was really helpful and friendly, he greeted Freddie with a big Happy Birthday and loaded our buggy under the coach for us. Everyone else on the coach was friendly and a lot of people said hello to the children so it was definitely a family friendly way to travel, and cheaper than the train too!

We will definitely be having a look at what trips they have on the next time we have school holidays and I’ll be keeping an eye out for weekend trips too!
