Christmas at Bolesworth
2 December, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 24 December, 2022 @ 5:00 pm
Bolesworth at Christmas really does have everything. We arrived through a lit up entrance of a gorgeous sparkly light tunnel to be met by an arena of fairground rides and market stalls. There were about 15 different rides suitable from toddler all the way up to hair-raising scary rides. My daughters went on a couple of rides each and then we had a look around the selection of food stalls. We got some lovely burgers and for my gluten and dairy free daughter we were pleased to beable to get her chips topped with pulled pork from the hog roast stall.
We ate our tasty food inside the Alpine Lodge which was a lovely inside bar and seating area. There was a full range of Christmasy drinks available including mulled wine and hot chocolates. There was a children’s area with small sofas and a Christmas film playing. This was also where the toilets were.
Next was a special visit to see Father Christmas. We had our time slot pre booked so we arrived on time and only had to queue for 10minutes which was inside a warm and beautifully decorated room. The girls were excited to meet Father Christmas, he spent his time asking about the girls and their gift ideas and I could get a photo on my phone. They also took a professional shot which you could purchase in lots of different forms when you exited the grotto.
Finally we set off on the light trail, we were advised this would take about an hour so we left it till the end so we didn’t have to rush.
The enchanted Christmas light trail is a circular route which takes you past the lit up castle with strobes of light shining up into the sky and past a breath taking water display on the lake. There are a couple of interactive light shows where you can press buttons with your hands to create colour changing tubes of bubbles or with your feet to create a colourful and musical show.
Half way round the trail there is another chance to grab some food or drink from more food stalls but the showstopper is the real life reindeers you will find at Rudolph’s Rest. The reindeer were amazing to see and really made the experience even more magic.
• Adults £27, child £18, family (2+2) £69
• Card payments only on the stalls and rides
• The trail takes about an hour to walk with Reindeers and food stalls half way round.
