Where to go strawberry picking in Oxfordshire
There’s nothing better than picking your own fresh fruit and vegetables. Their taste and flavour can’t be rivalled by anything you buy in the supermarket and it’s really good value too. It’s also a great way for kids to get involved and encourage them to try new things. Here are a few great places to go in Oxfordshire to PYO (pick your own).
Rectory Farm, Millets Farm and The Old Farm have all been reviewed on the website, so click on the link for more details and lots of photos.
If you’d like to go a little further afield, we have a great guide for BERKSHIRE too.
Rectory Farm
Rectory Farm is located just outside Oxford, not only can you pick the most delicious of fresh fruits and vegetables, but it has the added bonus of a great cafe and sun shaded sandpit and little play park area.
No booking required, but bring your own punnets / plastic containers and carrier bags if you can – they’re going big on reducing plastic use and need your help. A discount will be offered on all PYO fruit and veg when you bring your own containers or reuse the ones supplied at the farm on a return visit.
Millets Farm
Millets is chock full of activities to keep the kids happy and regularly has some great events too. There’s a large PYO with a variety of fruit.
Tickets are released online at regular intervals during the picking season to ensure they have sufficient fruit available for everyone to enjoy. An admission ticket is required to enter the fields and pre-booking is advisable, as tickets will only be available on the door if they have spare capacity. Admission tickets are £1.50
Q Gardens
The PYO season at Q Gardens starts with their strawberries and raspberries before moving on to cherries, plums and damsons. The PYO hut is closed until at least Monday 26th June but check their website details
Medley Manor Park
Pick your own fruit & veg at Medley Manor Farm in Oxford and enjoy light lunches and teas on weekend during June and July. Strawberry season from mid June, and asparagus from May.
