Archie’s Atomic Roller Disco

So I don’t know about you but when I grew up (i’m a 90’s kid), roller disco’s were all the rage but they then seemed to go a bit out of fashion and now they are back with a bang.

Archie’s Atomic at Trafford Palazzo are the bang- they have launched with an incredible new venue and it’s amazing! Located just a short drive from the city centre with free extensive parking, this lively arcade, roller disco and restaurant is the perfect place to let loose and have fun, no matter your age.

We arrived with high expectations and Atomic Archies definitely delivered. Entry is from £15 per person mid week and £20 at weekends, which is well worth it for the variety of activities available (Feb 2025).  The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by an electric atmosphere. The music is upbeat, with everything from a bit of Spice Girls to Pink Pony Club! All bookings come with knee pads- I’d recommend these and you can request elbow pads and helmets which are subject to availability! I guess this one depends if you are a backwards skating pro.. or a skate around the outside holding the rail type of skater.. like me.

The arcade is fab and it’s packed with all the classic games you know and love. From retro pinball machines to the latest video games, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re into high-energy racing games or prefer the more laid-back vibe of the claw machines, there’s plenty to keep you entertained. The best part? The tokens you collect during your time at the arcade can be exchanged for prizes, which kept the little ones motivated and excited.

But Archie’s Atomic  isn’t just about the games—it’s also a great place to grab a bite to eat. I’ve loved Archie’s for a long time, since they launched their new Trafford Centre venue a few years ago we have been regulars.  We went for some classic American-style comfort food: burgers, fries, and pizza, all of which hit the spot. The food is reasonably priced and the milkshakes are incredible and almost a meal in themselves- they are very large and filling!

One of the things that really stood out for us was the atmosphere at Archie’s Atomic roller rink. I would say that whilst there is a rail along the outside of the roller disco, it’s definitely something that would be more suited to older children (8 plus) and adults. We were surprised to see how many people were there for date nights, with no children!
